All School leavers should have the opportunity to attend their prom with confidence and in style. School leavers from homes where money is short should have no less right to the experience than anyone else.
Paula Daly is an accomplished business communications consultant, with a track record in providing creative and innovative strategic PR, marketing and design solutions for large-scale corporate and government programmes.
Inspired by a lifetime’s immersion in fashion history and a habit for collecting vintage treasures, Paula started working on the creation of her own brand and online business - Mouse to Minx® – in 2004, opening her first branded boutique in 2005 and online store and magazine in 2007.
With over 11 years working in the online world, she is one of the earliest generation of internet communications professionals, with a wide-reaching insight into the effects of professionally planned and delivered strategies for online community building, customer engagement and PR.
Paula has combined this experience with her extensive knowledge of fashion history, an inspiring collection of vintage dresses and her creative talents, to launch the unique Mouse to Minx® concept which is now followed by a club of signed up members on five continents.
The Mouse to Minx® website has received multiple commendations for its design and customer usability, and has been associated in ‘best of’ lists with brands such as Prada, Myla, Victoria’s Secret and Tiffany and has been seen in national UK magazines such as Period Living, Look, First and Essentials.
Paula is delighted to be sharing some of her business, design, PR and fashion experience with the Bristol Prom Project as a mentor and Fairy Godmother.

Heidi Wood is a co founder of the Prom Project and our original fairy godmother.
Her Pen picture will be up shortly.
Until then we can enjoy this picture of her with her daughter in the dress that started our little adventure.
Jan Capel is a co founder of the Bristol Prom Project. She has been described as a relentless do gooder, and feels that it is a fair description, (especially the relentless part, because she needs little sleep).
Jan has a strong business development, improvement and change management background.
She has been in the public sector for many years and has worked in Project Management and development of Quality Management Systems as well as an extensive training and development background.
Jan is a natural problem solver and an enabler with a creative and prolific attitude to her work.
She has a history of working with challenging young people in Bristol and has spent 5 years as a foster carer for Bristol City Council.
Jan is proud to be a director of the Walter Tull Association, principally an educational and mentoring group with a cohesive and inclusive approach to their work. www.waltertull.com
Jan has been volunteering with them for some time and is currently Project Coordinator for The Walter Tull Big History Event.
Jan is enjoying her fairy godmother role.
Lynne Macriner - Manley, was
our first volunteer Fairy Godmother
and she worked with all the guys
and gals at Hamp Community
Association in Bridgwater.
Lynne sadly passed away before we could make it to our first Bridgwater Prom Season. We are devastated to loose such a warm and special person. Lynne was simply one of the nicest and most inspirational people I have ever met.
Lynnes warmth and kindness touched so many. We instantly loved her. She had the warmest smile and you felt so calm around her. She instantly loved you back. She was determined to help so much and would have been a driving force in the project.
She was a truly amazing individual and her loss has left both a void and a determination to make this so special for Lynne.
Bringing the Prom Project to the school leavers of Bridgwater was Lynnes dream and we will support the lovely people at Hamp Community Association to make sure Lynnes dream comes true.
They are such special people at Hamp Community Association and they are going to carry the project forward in Lynnes name and
I am sure we can make it something amazing.
Lynne, I am sure, has swapped her fairy godmother wings for a brand new pair of angel wings.
We can still feel the warmth of that smile.
Rest in Peace.
