All School leavers should have the opportunity to attend their prom with confidence and in style. School leavers from homes where money is short should have no less right to the experience than anyone else.
We are shocked and devastated at the news that our Bridgwater Fairy Godmother (FG3), Lynne Macriner - Manley has died suddenly.
Lynne Macriner-Manley was our Angel - She had adopted the prom project in Bridgwater through the Hamp Community Association and was going to be our first trustee for The Bristol Prom Project.
Lynne was so excited and thrilled to be able to support the families of Bridgwater with a fairy tale Prom. She had already launched the dress campaign in Bridgwater with the wonderful people at the Hamp Community Association.
We were so excited to be working with someone so utterly fantastic and kind. She was one in a million and she was so determined and dedicated to making a positive difference in her community. She accepted everyone and had such a warm smile and welcoming heart that it was impossible not to instantly love her.
We are devastated by her loss. She touched so many people and made such a difference to everyone she met - Our heartfelt wishes are with Lynnes family and many friends.
We were due to celebrate this link to a fantastic friend and supporters with a big fashion show and launch event in Bridgwater in the new year.
With the support of HAMPCA we will hope to arrange these events and contintue the project in Bridgwater in memory of Lynne. We know we can make her proud.
