Want to go to prom but can't afford a dress? We may be able to help

The Bristol Prom Project has created a wardrobe of donated dresses which we maintain, restore and revive, to lend to those girls who may otherwise miss out.

Dresses can be hired for as little as a £5 cleaning fee and an optional donation to the project.

Lynnes Dream Launches

Jan has been appointed as the manager of the Hamp Community Association and will be spending a little time between Bristol and Bridgwater over the next few months helping out with Lynnes Project and with the Hamp Community Association.

It is a fantastic chance to make a difference to the community that Lynne loved and to help embed the Prom Project in Bridgwater. We loved Lynne and we are carrying on in her memory and spirit.

Jan is on a mission (as always)

The Project

The Prom has become an important rite of passage for school leavers and the costs can be high. The peer pressure and the rising cost of prom can put a strain on the budget of low income families and those on benefits. Some children are simply missing out because of the costs involved.

By attracting donations of new and gently used formal wear, dresses, and party wear we can make sure students have access to a fantastic prom wardrobe.

Students who may otherwise miss out will be able to hire dresses out for a minimal cleaning fee and an optional donation to the project.

We want to link with individuals, groups and businesses in our local community prepared to donate dresses, accessories and formal wear and those lovely people who are kind enough to offer their time and services to help with make sure students don't miss out on their Prom.

All School leavers should have the opportunity to attend their prom with confidence and in style. School leavers from homes where money is short should have no less right to the experience than anyone else.
